Project overview
The challenge
Encouraging young people to walk and bike takes clear information for families, useful resources for schools, and opportunities to learn and practice. These programs make active transportation and traffic safety part of school and community life.
Our work
BlinkTag helps 511 CCTA connect students, families, and schools with programs that encourage walking, biking, and safer travel. We built the Walk N Roll website, manage the Street Smarts Contra Costa program page, and created Bike Family Fest website pages and email and social media outreach.
Walk N Roll: supporting everyday active travel
We built the Walk N Roll program website to help school communities learn about walking, biking, rolling, and carpooling to school. The site brings together participating-school information, resources for parents and schools, and student activities.
The program encourages ongoing participation through designated Walk N Roll days and collectible rewards. The website explains how it works and helps families and school communities find the information they need to take part.

Street Smarts Contra Costa: youth safety education
We manage the Street Smarts Contra Costa program page, supporting bicycle and pedestrian safety education for elementary and middle school students. The program connects with students, families, and educators through school events and hands-on learning.
Mr. Beeps delivers traffic safety education in a fun and memorable style. Lessons cover traffic signals and street signs, crossing basics, making eye contact, avoiding distractions, parking lot awareness, and staying visible. Children also learn about helmets, basic bike safety, and the benefits of walking and biking.
Our website work makes program information available online in support of youth safety education and community outreach.
Bike Family Fest: event pages and digital outreach
Bike Family Fest is an annual community event where children and families can learn to ride, practice cycling skills, and explore bike safety activities. BlinkTag created the event website pages and supported promotion through email and social media outreach.
The event pages help families discover activities and plan their visit, with information about getting there by bike, walking, transit, or car. They also connect visitors with the ongoing Walk N Roll program.
