Client: The County Connection (CCCTA) provides transit service throughout the communities of Concord, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Walnut Creek, Clayton, Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, Danville, San Ramon, as well as unincorporated communities in Central Contra Costa County, California.
Project: BlinkTag created a WordPress powered website for the CCCT. A major goal of this site was to put the most commonly used information in the easiest to find locations. Schedule and fare information was made very accessible, while less popular information was places on sub-pages. The route schedule and maps pages are dynamically created from the cccta GTFS file and automatically update when new schedule information is available. BlinkTag also integrated Facebook and Twitter into the site.
BlinkTag also worked with the County Connection to convert their transit schedule information from an Excel spreadsheet into General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS). A GTFS file is a common format that allows a transit agency’s schedule and route information to be used by developers for a wide range of applications. One of the most popular applications that uses GTFS data is Google Map’s Transit Trip Planner. County Connection’s routes are now available on Google Maps website and on millions on smartphones.
