The Client: The San Francisco Bay View National Black Newspaper, founded in 1976, is the most widely-read source of political opinion and cultural news for African-Americans in the Bay Area, and is an important network and communication tool for the black Diaspora nationwide. SFBV received international acclaim for its breaking coverage of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The Project: Due to financial constraints, SFBV ceased to publish a print-edition of its paper in 2008 and instead sought to revamp its online edition. As a volunteer effort, Blinktag designed and built a modified blogging platform for SFBV’s publisher and editor, allowing her to post fresh stories and multimedia content to sfbayview.com on her own without additional assistance from our firm.
