The Client: Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services. More notably, Arup has worked on the Sydney Opera House and on the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
The Project: BlinkTag built a 7-step visual guide that helps a user select their place type based on density, zoning, transit, street grid, sidewalk, bicycle and parking infrastructure information. BlinkTag imported Arup’s database of trip generation rates to inform the travel demand process with context-specific rates to more accurately predict the number and types of trips generated by diverse land uses. The project goal is to help planners, engineers, developers and public officials save money and resources from the over-allocation of road and parking space as they work to better plan places for people.
