The Client: As part of a multi-year planning process, the University of California, Berkeley was chosen to lead an investigation of sustainable tourism practices in Krabi Province, Thailand. The studio was funded by the Thai Public Policy Foundation, and brought together ten students from the US with ten from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.

The Project: In the summer of 2007, Blinktag CFO Jed Horne worked with Thai and American researchers on the island of Lanta, developing a vision for sustainable waste management in the region. Jed brought his expertise in large infrastructure projects to the task, and modeled solid waste generation and management in the tourism sector. The plan was subsequently presented to the governor of Krabi Province.
