The Client: One of the most dramatic outcomes of Hurricane Katrina has been a complete re-organization of the public school system in the hard-hit city of New Orleans. Kids Rethinking New Orleans’ Schools is a student-led, grassroots organization of school kids founded after the storm, dedicated to giving young people a voice in the rebuilding process. Rethink has held three press conferences on topics ranging from wide-ranging facility improvements to an overhaul of the cafeteria system, and has had high-level discussions with state and local education officials about school reform.

The Project: In the fall of 2008, Rethink hired Blinktag to coordinate the media coverage their upcoming press conference. We built a database of press contacts and designed an html-based newsletter sent to approximately 300 media outlets nationwide.  Blinktag also does occasional updates to the Rethink website (designed by another firm).
