BlinkTag Inc Company articulated bus

Update: SFist wrote a followup article about us and our bus.
Blnktag just pimped its ride! $3,250. Worth every penny.
What’s even sweeter is that we figured every hipster with $10,000 bucks would have bid on this guy, thanks to SFist. But I guess the down economy has come to our rescue once again.
Burning Man, here we come. (We’ll probably pull this to South By Southwest too, depending on its roadworthyness)

It was in the newer version of “The Italian Job” and at least one Nelly music video. It was mentioned in the IMDB “goofs” section for The Italian Job:
Factual errors: When Charlie is confronted by Steve in the helicopter under the freeway, the buses in the background are MUNI buses. The movie takes place in Los Angeles; MUNI is the public transportation in San Francisco.

Do you guys plan on keeping its existing paint job?
We’re not sure yet, it looks pretty cool. Any suggestions?
We’re torn – we want to register it as an art car at Burning Man, and that usually requires modifying the exterior. But the theme this year is “Metropolis” so we might get away with running a proper transit route and keeping the markings.
Repaint it if you must, but keep the original headsign roll! Especially the famous ‘Nowhere in Particular’ destination that is unique to Muni.
just came across your story randomly on the web … congrats on the bus!
perhaps mr. mojo and his purple palace has some tips for you guys – http://current.com/items/89248051_purple-palace-party-bus.htm
see u on the playa 2010!!!
Yeah, we’re definitely planning on working with the purple palace people, we need some help!
This is a bit late, but I noticed that we got an article on NBC Bay Area about our bus purchase: http://www.nbcbayarea.com/around-town/shopping/Muni-Bus-Makes-Its-Way-From-eBay-to-Burning-Man-66048497.html
it really works within the metropolis theme! you should somehow portray the sadness/loneliness of bus transit, juxtaposed by intense, mushroom-powered cohesion…or some other shit like that…
